Sweden: interesting people and things I saw
I visited my friend Audrone and her family in Stockholm, Sweden in May of 2006. This album contains pictures of things I saw that were of some interest; various details of Swedish everyday life that were unusual to me. It also contains "street fashion" pictures of people on the streets of Stockholm.
One day I was standing with Audrone at a bus stop in Stockholm near her home, when a neighbor walked up to her. They exchanged these words: "moron" -- "moron", and went on to have an ordinary conversation. I had to suppress a chuckle. Yes, I realized "moron" must mean morning in Swedish, but it was still funny. (Actually it's spelled "morgon", but the g is silent.)
In this spirit, I took several pictures of Swedish signs that contain words that mean something funny in English. Or at least funny to me, thanks to my unsophisticated sense of humor. :-) So, in this post I will take cheap shots at Swedish language and attempt to make lame multilingual puns.
