P1090290 Sleeping in a phone booth
A homeless (presumably) man sleeps all scrunched up in a phone booth in a Paris park. BTW, I saw hardly any homeless here. And why does a country that, like most European countries, probably surpasses U.S. in cell phone usage, still need pay phones? :-)

P1090274 A view of Paris roofs
from my parents' apartment in the 15th Arrondisement, where they stayed in June of 2010. Their apartment is on the 7th floor, and the elevator doesn't work, so we got good exercise climbing the stairs.

P1090322 Me in the street of the Fishing Cat
Me in the street of the Fishing Cat (Rue du chat qui peche), allegedly the narrowest street in Paris. It is in the Latin Quarter, one of the oldest neighborhoods in Paris. I can almost, though not quite, touch both sides.

P1090327 Street of the Fishing Cat
If house facades face the street then it's a street, and if their back sides face it, then it's an alley, right? Then I think the Street of the Fishing Cat (Rue du chat qui peche), with windows and balconies facing it, is a proper street, not an alley.

P1090332 A painting of a fishing cat
on a house in the street of the Fishing Cat (Rue du chat qui peche), allegedly the narrowest street in Paris. I wonder if that little slot in the wall (framed in blue) was actually meant to be a trash bin, or if people are just using it that way.

P1090356 Ruins of Roman baths
uncovered outside of the Museum of the Middle Ages (Musee National du Moyen Age) in Paris. The ruin is surrounded by a mesh fence, and we couldn't get inside (maybe it's not open to the public at all?), so I took this picture through the fence.
