P1090567 Crowds at the Basilica of Sacre Coeur
Crowds hanging out on the stairs of the Basilica of Sacre Coeur, a church at the top of the Monmartre hill. It appears that there is an unending carnival, a fair, a mass picnic, or whatever you want to call it, going on on the stairs of Sacre Coeur. There are bands playing (their sound amplifiers competing with one another), dancers dancing, magicians performing tricks, and what not. Inside the church, however, the circus ends and church-like atmosphere is enforced -- even flash photography is prohibited.
That's my mom in the lower right, taking a picture of me taking a picture.
