on the bat cruise, surrounded by Ben (left) and Keith (right). Between him, Matt, and David we had three guitarists on the cruise. The other two, however, played crowd-pleasers like Peaceful Easy Feeling.

On September 26, 2015, members and friends of the Atheist Community of Austin went on an annual cruise on Town Lake, and watched the bats emerge at dusk from the Congress Avenue bridge. The cruise was preceded by a lecture by Heina Dadabhoy. As an ex-Muslim, Heina Dadabhoy talked about harmful stereotypes that Westerners, even progressive ones, hold about Islamic women -- for example, their supposed powerlessness, submissiveness, or lack of agency, and about how freethinkers need to work together with progressive Muslims, instead of dismissing them.
