20180729_154153 Sound of Austin project demo
Heike Jost (right), art director of Sound of Austin project, and her team present the project they built at the Women In Tech machine learning hackathon. This is a project that collects clips of sounds heard in Austin, and decides, via machine learning, what sound is the most representative of Austin. This is what was officially on one of their presentation slides (not always legible, so I'm not sure if I got all the words right):
"Sound of Austin, TX: implementing an IoT use case for Austin, creating a voice and platform for Austin's artistic and technical creatives. Interactive public art project collecting and selecting Austin's sounds and celebrating its most unique sequence by broadcasting it daily on people's devices during sunset. This is a [...] combining serverless IoT and blockchain technologies with machine learning and AI methodologies of gathering, sorting, distributing [?] and creating consensus [?] with React Native GUI. On a daily basis, WATSON will decide which of the sound clips will be chosen for broadcasting the "Sound of Austin, TX". All data collected and distributed uses public and private devices using AGORA that integrates seamlessly and allows userfriendly participation.
Blockchain, REACT, AGORA."
They also have a meetup: Austin Art and Sound
To be sure, I don't remember how they said they were using blockchain or IoT for this.
